Shingo Fujii was born in Kamiiso (Japan) in 1954,
began to study the guitar by himself at the age of ten, and then
under the direction of Ichiro Okamoto. As a student at Kyoto University
he won 1st prize in the "Young Guitarist Competition (Osaka, 1978)".
He went to Spain to study under the late Joseluis Gonzalez and
David Russell, and in 1986 obtained the diploma of the Royal College
of Music, London (A.R.C.M.) and won the "Luis-Coleman Prize" in
the "Luis Coleman Competition (Santiago de Compostella)". He now
gives numerous concerts throughout Japan, is invited to a number
of music festivals, and has taught at the Osaka College of Music
from 1986 to the present. He wrote a series of articles for a
guitar course based on L. Brouwer's Studies for the monthly magazine;
Gendai Guitar for two years, and has been guest lecturer at the
"Kyushu Summer Course for Guitar" since 1998. Shingo was teaching
Guitar and Guitar Ensemble at the Osaka College of Music (1987
- 2000). From 1998, Shingo is invited as a Guest Teacher of Guitar
and Guitar Ensemble in KYUSHU GUITAR SUMMER COURSE, and a Guest
teacher in FOREST-HILL GUITAR ACADEMY(Fukuoka).
